Giant Devil Is Pissed Off
Giant Devil Is Pissed Off

This one took a bit longer than the usual speed painting.
The main reason is that I started painting loosely during one lunch break – without really knowing what I was about to do – when my friend Dave walked behind my desk and went “A-HA! Godzilla! LOL!”.
To be honest he wasn’t wrong, at the beginning there was only a giant leg that could pass as a t-rex’s leg or something.
After I changed it to a more humanoid appendix I thought it could have been a giant demon wreaking havoc in a city.
Since the upper part of the body is not in sight I decided to give him a weapon that could be seen from ground level, hence the flaming whips.
As soon as I painted the flames I liked the contrast between the warmer colours on the left hand side and the overall cool mood of the rest of the composition, so I played on it by warming up all the buildings and debris on that side.
